It was 2009 in an apartment in Wellington, NZ when the idea was sprung. Could we really do it? Why not?! Would we actually do it? There’s nothing to lose, right?!
A 30 litre pot, a camp stove and the bath for cooling – the challenge was big..... but our dream was bigger.
The New Zealand craft brewing scene was kicking off; the trend was growing and so was our plan. A shift to Melbourne saw us refine the craft. And refine we did! The craft, the plan, the name. Still something didn't feel quite right... We needed a place like home, a place steeped in natural wonder. We needed a new hub, a small spot with a growing demand.
Hobart became our home and Fox Friday was launched in April 2016.
Now with bigger pots, bigger stoves and a huge bath, Fox Friday celebrates its roots and focuses on keeping the processes real and hands on. Brewers brew the beer by hand, not using big technology, there’s no big buttons here. Simplicity is an important element in our brewing; we use clean and uncomplicated flavours to craft balanced and complete beers.
We love beer, you love beer, so drop by the cellar door for a chat and enjoy local craft from local brewers (well.... almost local).
